Craniosacral Osteopathy
The word is a compound of cranium (scalp) and ,sacrum“ (lowest point of your spine). The craniosacral system consists of the spine, brain and levels of medulla spinalis and the liquid around it. This system follows its own rhythm, the cranio sacral rhythm, a kind o pulse of the brain and spine liquid (bone marrow liquid). The lung (breathing rhythm) and heart (heart rhythm) are also body systems with its own rhythm. A therapist can feel the craniosacral rhythm. The whole body can be influenced by regulating the craniosacral rhythm.
Many doctors doubt the flexibility of cranial bones or the fact that movement/flexibility can be felt.
Numerous studies have proved( the) cranial flexibility and presume that the bones of the cranium are incomplete. (Ward, R.)
One presumes that every patient has a particular pattern of movements which can be felt. It depends
on multiple factors among them the inclined (tilted) sutures of the scalp and the docking points of
the brain- and marrow skins. That‘s why exact knowledge of cranial sacral treatment is compulsory necessary.
